The Border Defense Array is a vital branch of the IDF Ground Forces, uniting the four elite co-ed light infantry battalions: Caracal, Jordan Lions, Cheetah, and Lions of the Jordan Valley.
Established formally in 2017 following the massive success of the Caracal battalion and a 50% surge in women’s motivation for combat roles, this array is responsible for ongoing security and defense along Israel's borders with Egypt and Jordan.
These highly trained soldiers are fully equipped to operate as standard infantry in emergencies and fight in enemy territory near the borders.
This premium, official-issue beret symbolizes dedication, pioneering spirit, and modern tactical defense.
