The 7th Brigade, also known as the "Golan SAAR Brigade", is a regular armored brigade under the command of the 36th Division ("Gaash Brigade") in the Northern Command of the Israel Defense Forces. The brigade was established on May 16, 1948, immediately after the declaration of the state, and participated in all of Israel's wars.
The brigade uses Merkava Mark 4M400 tanks with an Israeli-made "Wind Coat" active tank protection system, an improved fire control system, and a battle management system - the "Masua 750" tactical beacon.
