The Talpiot Elite Training Program Shoulder Tag

The Talpiot program is a training program for recruits who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability in the sciences and leadership potential.

The undergraduate studies are in physics, mathematics or computer sciences.

A soldier who graduates of the Talpiot program pursue double higher education while serving in the army, and then benefit his expertise to further IDF research and development in technological leadership positions. The program was opened for the recruits in 1979.

The service program duration is nine years, including 40 months of training (mostly during compulsory military service) and then positions in the different units.
