Golani Recon - Palsar

The Golani Recon pin is granted to a soldier who serves in the Recon company (Rangers "Palsar") of Golani, which was established in 1948.

It is a truly remarkable unit of the IDF. The warrior's entire training period lasts 16 months consisting of the following phases: Hard and sometimes gruelling training which include- Infantry combat training, patrolling techniques, solitary navigation, guerrilla fighting, And Anti-Terror (in missions of rescuing hostages from various situations).

The Recon Warrior is also qualified to collect intelligence data and to abide in the enemy's territory for sustained period of time in order to do that. At the end of the complete course, the warrior is qualified to perform assignments and missions of navigation, patrolling and fighting within the borders of Israel or outside of it as well, in standards of solo-fighting (hand to hand) combat, fighting in pairs, group and team fighting.

The Recon's motto is: "to anywhere we want, in anyway we choose".
