The Ribbon of the Operation Strong Cliff or "Miv'tza Tzuk Eitan " also known as the Operation Protective Edge or EL ASAF EL MAAKUL in Arabic is an Israeli appreciation awarded by the IDF or the Defense Ministry for participants in Operation Strong Cliff.

Under the decisions of the Ministerial Committee for Symbols and Ceremonies, Because of the nature of this war, and deep involvement of civilians in the rear, this ribbon will be awarded to civilians as was with the second Lebanon War ribbon  unlike other war ribbons of the State of Israel.

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, recommended to the Ministerial Committee on Symbols and Ceremonies Presentation to create the ribbon although the operation was not recognized as a war, because of the number of troops involved in the fighting, and because of its duration. "This is the eighth Israeli war Ribbon and awarded the first time for military conflict that is not defined as a war.

The meanings of the ribbons appear colors:

Red - the blood of the fallen,

Orange - Front notation system was damaged in the fighting (Orange is the color of HFC - Home Front Command),

Light Brown - symbols the color of sand in the Gaza Strip,

Blue and White - the colors of Israel national flag.

The Ribbon of the second Lebanon war is an Israeli appreciation awarded by the IDF or the Defense Ministry for participants in the Second Lebanon War.
