About the Kfir Brigade

The Kfir Brigade (“Lion Cub Brigade”) is the youngest infantry brigade in the IDF and is part of the 162nd Division under the Central Command.
Originally formed in the 1990s as several designated infantry battalions supporting armored forces, the units were unified into a single regular brigade on December 6, 2005.

Today, the Kfir Brigade commands the battalions: Nachshon, Shimshon, Haruv, Duchifat, Lavi, and Netzah Yehuda.
Its soldiers wear a camouflaged beret, and the brigade’s primary missions include:
