Nahal Brigade Combat Pin – Awarded since Early 2026

This distinguished pin is presented to soldiers who successfully complete the Nahal Brigade’s combat training track at the brigade’s Infantry Training Base (Bahad Nahal).

The Nahal Training Base is the largest basic training facility in the IDF and hosts both Nahal recruits and several elite units.

The Nahal Brigade (Brigade 933) is a regular infantry brigade in the Israel Defense Forces. Established in 1982, the brigade was originally formed from soldiers of the Nahal Corps (Fighting Pioneer Youth), a framework that supported pioneering settlement groups. Beginning in the 1990s, the brigade expanded its recruitment beyond the Nahal movement, and today only a small percentage of its soldiers originate from traditional Nahal groups.

The brigade operates under Steel Formation (162nd Division) and has participated in every major Israeli military campaign since the First Lebanon War, with the exception of Operation Cast Lead.

Nahal fighters wear a light‑green beret bearing the Infantry Corps emblem and the brigade’s signature red boots, a long‑standing and unique tradition.
