Description

The obsolete staff sergeant rank (Samal Rishon) is a pear of cotton tripled striped rank, in the shades of golden yellow and royal blue with a pin of a golden leaf.

It is worn on each arm and indicates usually the service period of thirty two months and on.

The Staff Sergeant rank is the last rank of the regular service before getting the non-comissioned officer's rank.

The Staff Sergeant rank followes the Sergeant directly.

In some cases the Seargant will be granted with the rank of Sergeant as reward for excellencies in course or in case the job requires this rank.

This rank was in use until 2006, when a metallic vine leaf was replaced with the rank of First Sergeant with embroidered leaf.
