Enamel made ribbon two pin on the back. Awarded by the IDF or by Ministry of Defense to those who participated or took active part of fighting in the War of Attrition (1967 to 1970).

The War of Attrition (in Arabic "Sword to – Astnzaf") was a war between Israel and Egypt, which began on March 8, 1969 and continued until August 7, 1970, when the parties agreed on a cease-fire.

The war began as an initiative Egyptian exhausted Israeli: the name "War of Attrition" ("Sword to - Astnzaf") was given by the Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

The war ended in a Strategic draw - Neither side managed to eradicate the forces of the adversary.

The war ended in exhaustion of both parties. For many years the war of attrition did not have formal recognition by Israel, and its fighters were decorated with the letter operational service for their service during the fighting. Only in 2003, after a delay of 32 years this Ribbon was awarded to soldiers who participated in The War of Attrition.

In January 2003 the Israeli government determined that a Signal / Ribbon war of attrition will be given to those who served in the IDF at least 30 days during the period from 11 June 1967 to 8 August 1970.
